Take television from UK to India
First thing you have to check is Broadcasting signal type in India is PAL B where as the signal type in UK is PAL I. Check your TV manual to see if your TV is capable of switching the signal from the UK Pal-I to the Indian Pal-B. You can view the country broadcast standard type information HERE
Most television sets sold in the UK these days normally can be used on PAL B.
Regarding duty allowance, I am not sure of your status but Indians and Foreigners residing in India have a duty free allowance I believe of Rs25000. The duty if over this amount is approximately 36.5%
